Hamilton, Stoney Creek + surrounding areas
Hamilton shaped me. Stoney Creek shaped my family.
I grew up in Hamilton, went to school here and later raised my own children in the area. After more than four decades, it’s still the area we call home.
Hamilton has always felt like a bit of both worlds to me. It’s a city, with everything that comes with that, but once you find your people, it can feel surprisingly small. The relationships you build here can start to feel like family.
When my children were babies, I had a lot of hands-on help from my parents. I knew I was fortunate, but working with other families showed me just how much that kind of support can change the postpartum experience. Not everyone has someone nearby who can take the baby, protect a few hours of sleep or step in when everyone is too tired to think clearly.
I first noticed the gap in postpartum care about 20 years ago. There were groups to join and places to get information, but much less hands-on help once families were home with their babies. Even now, I still hear, “I didn’t know this kind of support existed,” or, “I wish I’d known about this when my baby was born.”
For me, postpartum support starts with helping parents get enough rest to function and make decisions. It isn’t glamorous or complicated. Sometimes what changes everything is having an experienced person there who can take over for a while.

I had family who could step in. My work showed me how many parents don’t.
What would make the next 24 hours easier?
Some families need help getting through the day. Some need someone experienced to take over at night. Some use a mix of both, because babies, recovery and household life do not always follow the original plan.
You don’t need to diagnose the problem before reaching out. Start with the part that feels hardest right now.

A night where you are not the one on call.
Overnight support gives you experienced help through the long stretch of the night, so rest is not entirely dependent on everyone magically sleeping at the same time.
We follow your feeding plan, care for your newborn and handle the ordinary overnight decisions. You decide how involved you want to be. We can bring your baby to you for feeds, provide bottles according to your plan or share the night in another way that works for your family.
In the morning, you’ll know what happened and anything worth noticing.
The shift should make life easier after we leave, too.
Of course we can hold the baby and wash the bottles. But if every support person still needs you to explain where things are, what to do next and how your baby likes to be settled, the mental load is still sitting with you.
Cradira support includes hands-on newborn care, but we also pay attention to the information, supplies, routines and handovers surrounding that care.
The goal is not to reorganize your entire life or create a perfect schedule. It is to make everyday care easier for another adult to understand, take over and continue without asking you seventeen questions first.

Someone experienced is paying attention.
We notice what helps, what changes and what keeps creating friction, so you are not carrying every detail alone.

Important details stop living in one person’s head.
Preferences, feeding plans, nap notes, soothing tricks and supply needs become easier to communicate and repeat.

You don’t have to explain everything twice.
When routines and handovers are clearer, partners and other support people can step in with less confusion.

Small fixes keep helping.
Sometimes moving the bottles, simplifying the diaper setup or clarifying who handles what makes the next day noticeably easier.
You don’t need to know exactly what to book.
Tell us what is happening, what feels hardest and what kind of relief would make the biggest difference. We’ll help you choose a sensible starting point.
Tell us what’s going on.
Share your location, due date or baby’s age, the kind of support you’re considering and what currently feels difficult.
We talk it through.
We’ll discuss daytime, overnight or combined support, answer your questions and confirm availability, pricing and minimum booking length.
We make a plan that fits.
We begin with your preferences and immediate needs, then adjust as your baby, recovery and household change.
No pressure. Nothing is booked until everyone feels comfortable moving forward.

In-home support starts at $48/hour.
Final pricing depends on your location, the length and frequency of your bookings, and whether care is for one baby or multiples.
Daytime bookings generally have a four- to six-hour minimum. Overnight bookings have an eight-hour minimum. We’ll confirm the rate, minimum booking length and availability before you commit to anything.

We support families in:
If you’re nearby but do not see your community listed, ask. Service availability depends on location, timing and the type of support required.
If we can’t support you directly, we may still be able to help you find a useful next step.
You may not need someone in your home to need support.
Sometimes you need another pair of hands. Sometimes you need help sorting through what is happening, what matters and what to do next.
Cradira also offers virtual support, practical planning tools, quizzes and digital resources for families who want a clearer starting point without booking an in-home shift.

Quick answers
Do you provide in-home postpartum support in both Hamilton and Stoney Creek?
Yes. We provide daytime and overnight postpartum support in Hamilton, Stoney Creek and several nearby communities. Availability depends on your location, timing and the kind of support you need.
How much does postpartum support in Hamilton and Stoney Creek cost?
In-home support starts at $48/hour. The final rate depends on location, shift length, booking frequency and whether care is for one baby or multiples. We’ll confirm all pricing and minimums before you book.
Can we book both daytime and overnight support?
Yes. Some families use only daytime or overnight support, while others combine them or change their schedule as their needs evolve. We’ll help you consider what makes sense without pushing you into more support than you want.
Do I need to have everything organized before you arrive?
Absolutely not. You do not need matching storage bins, a written baby manual or a fully stocked changing station in every room.
We begin with the home, supplies and routines you already have. If something small would make care easier, we’ll help you identify it.
Is Cradira a medical service?
No. Cradira provides non-medical, parent-led postpartum support. We do not diagnose, prescribe or replace your doctor, midwife, lactation consultant, therapist or another regulated healthcare provider.
We can help you notice patterns, prepare questions and identify when something may be worth bringing to the appropriate member of your care team.
Can partners or other support people be involved?
Yes. Partners, co-parents, grandparents and other trusted support people can be included when that would make care and communication easier.
One of our goals is to help the people supporting you work from the same information, instead of relying on one exhausted person to remember, assign and explain everything.
What if you’re fully booked or I live outside the service area?
Please still reach out. If we are not available, we’ll let you know whether virtual support or one of our digital resources may fit. When possible, we may also be able to suggest another trusted professional.

What would make the next week easier?
Whether your baby is already here or you’re trying to plan before everything gets loud, you don’t need the perfect answer. Tell us what’s happening, what you’re preparing for or what already feels hard, and we’ll help you work out a realistic place to begin.
